Nine healing tones carried down from Gregorian chant, playable in your browser and layered over water, ocean, rain or wind. Pick the one that matches what is actually going on.
What they are
Guido d'Arezzo, a Benedictine monk, needed a way to teach monks to sing chant from sight a thousand years ago. He named each note after the first syllable of a line in the Hymn to Saint John the Baptist: Ut, Re, Mi, Fa, Sol, La. That is where do-re-mi comes from, and those were the tones the Gregorian monks chanted with. The scale fell out of use, was rediscovered in the 1970s, and three further tones complete the pattern. Nine in all.
What each one is for
One thing matters more than any of the above: these are meant to be played out loud through a speaker, not through headphones. The tone needs to move through the room and through your body, not just your eardrums.
