Fascia release class at Sound of Soma, Windsor Melbourne, led by Jack Lawton

Fascia Release and Sound

Tight shoulders, a sore back, a clenched jaw, a mind that won't switch off — that's stress stored in the body, and rest alone doesn't shift it. These classes release it at the source, then a sound bath gives your nervous system the space to properly settle.

Who it's for

Come along if any of this sounds like you:

  • Chronic stress that never seems to go away.
  • Tension in your neck, shoulders or back from sitting at a desk.
  • Pain in your body that doctors can't explain.
  • A feeling of being emotionally stuck or disconnected.
  • Anxiety, overwhelm and poor sleep - a mind that won't switch off.
  • Or maybe you feel good already, and you're looking to perform better in your craft, your sport, your life.

This is your first step to releasing years of stored pain, stress and tension.

The experience

What happens

1

You arrive, shake off the day.

You start standing on your mat in warm low light. Jack shows you each maneuver step by step — simple combinations of breath, movement and pressure you apply with your own hands. Nothing to learn in advance, no flexibility needed.

2

You work the stress out.

Each maneuver targets a place stress hides — the neck, the shoulders, the jaw, the hips, the lower back. You feel things soften as you go, and every maneuver is easy enough to use at home whenever stress builds up again.

3

You lie down and let it settle.

You finish lying down in a sound bath. The vibration keeps your body in rest mode, so what you released actually stays released. Most people walk out feeling like the week has been lifted off them.

Questions

Do I need experience or flexibility?

No — every maneuver is shown step by step and works at whatever range your body has today. Stiff, sore and stressed bodies are exactly who this is for.

What's the difference between the two classes?

Same tools, opposite balance. Stress Release is about 45 minutes of fascial maneuvers with a 15-minute sound bath to close. Nervous System Reset flips it: a short fascia sequence to open the body, then a full hour of sound.

What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable clothes you can move in. Everything else is provided — mats, cushions, blankets and props.

When should I arrive?

10–15 minutes early. Doors lock 5 minutes after we begin so the room stays undisturbed.

What is fascia?

The tissue that holds your stress

Close-up of human fascia connective tissue

Fascia is the web of connective tissue that wraps every muscle, bone and organ — one continuous layer running head to toe. It gives the body its shape, lets muscles glide over each other, and carries more nerve endings than almost any other tissue in the body.

When stress has nowhere to go, this is where it lands. The fascia tightens and thickens to protect you, and over time that quiet bracing becomes stiff shoulders, a sore lower back, a clenched jaw, shallow breathing and a system stuck in fight-or-flight.

The good news: fascia responds when you work with it directly — and we often see results quickly. Releasing it eases pain and tension, improves posture and movement, calms an overactive mind and helps the whole nervous system down-shift into rest.

The method

Fascial maneuvers, trained by Human Garage

The maneuvers Jack teaches come from Human Garage — the team who pioneered fascial maneuvers and have helped millions of people release stress and pain from the body.

Each maneuver is a short sequence of breath, movement and self-applied pressure that releases tension directly from the fascia. There's no equipment and nothing complicated — you'll be shown everything step by step, and the maneuvers are simple enough to take home and use whenever you need them.

Inside the stream

The fascia + sound classes

Same tools, opposite balance — one leans into the maneuvers, the other into the sound.

Stress Release — Somatics & Sound 45 min fascia · 15 min sound

Weekly · 60 min · $35 — for stress however it shows up.

Stress Release class doing fascial maneuvers in the Sound of Soma studio

Tight neck and shoulders, a sore lower back, a racing mind — however stress shows up for you, it comes from the same place. Guided fascial maneuvers work into the areas where stress is stored, releasing it directly from the tissue. Then you lie down for a 15-minute sound bath so your nervous system can properly settle. You'll take the maneuvers home with you.

75 min — see the live schedule below for the next date.

The inverse of Stress Release. A short sequence of fascial maneuvers opens the body and primes the tissue — then a full hour of sound lets your nervous system drop out of fight-or-flight and stay there. For bodies that brace, minds that won't switch off, and anyone running on empty.

Make it a rhythm

Once feels amazing. Weekly changes things.

Nervous systems don't transform in one visit — they respond to repetition. That's why the people who come weekly are the ones whose sleep changes for good.
