Ange playing a singing bowl over a class at Sound of Soma, Windsor Melbourne

Need help choosing a class?

Three questions, about twenty seconds, and we will tell you which of our ten classes fits and exactly why we picked it. Every class is open to complete beginners.

Because the right class depends on what your body is actually holding, not on what sounds nicest. We would rather send you to the one that helps than the one you expected.

You said

This is the one that decides your class. Answer for how it actually is, not how you would like it to be.

Sound settles a mind that will not stop. Held tension in tissue usually needs the body to move a little first, or the sound lands on a body still bracing. Same aim, different door.

You said

How much do you feel like doing?

Some of our classes ask you to move a little first. Tell us honestly, and if the best fit for your body is not the one you picked, we will say so rather than quietly swap it.

Because a class you will not enjoy is a class you will not come back to. If what you want and what would help are different things, you should get to see both and choose.

Book that instead

This is a suggestion, not a prescription. Every class we run is built to settle the nervous system, and any of them will do you good. This is simply the door we would open first, based on what you told us. If another one calls you, take that one.

The 28-Day Reset, six sessions across four weeks

Use them on any 60 or 75-minute class, including the one we just suggested. Six at the door would be $330. You pay $199, about $33 a session.

Three doors into the same room

Every class settles the nervous system. They differ only in how much your body does on the way there. If the finder sent you somewhere unexpected, this is why.

A group sound bath at Sound of Soma

From $49 · several weekly

Sound Healing

The easiest door. You lie down under a blanket while crystal and Himalayan bowls are played around the room. Sustained harmonic sound gives the brain a steady rhythm to follow, and it drifts out of busy beta down into alpha and theta, the states where the body actually repairs. No effort required, which is the point.

  • A mind that will not switch off
  • Stress, anxiety and poor sleep
  • Sensory overload, if you want low light and one steady sound
  • Anyone who has never done this

A yin and sound class at Sound of Soma

From $40 · Mon, Wed & Sun

Yin + Sound

Part deep stretch, part sound massage. Long, fully supported shapes while Tibetan bowls are played around you and rested directly on the body. Your body is roughly 70 percent water, which conducts sound well, so a bowl on the chest or belly sends vibration into tissue instead of just around it. Held for minutes at a time, the shapes reach connective tissue rather than muscle.

  • Tight hips, lower back and shoulders
  • Tension that keeps coming back
  • Wanting to be held still rather than worked on
  • First-timers who would rather move a little

Fascia release work at Sound of Soma

From $35 · weekly

Fascia + Sound

The most physical door. Fascia is the webbing that wraps every muscle and organ, and it grips under sustained stress then stays gripped. Guided maneuvers, trained through Human Garage, release it directly. Then sound settles the nervous system while the tissue is open, which is what makes the release hold instead of rebuilding by midweek.

  • Neck, jaw and back tension that massage does not hold
  • Pain with no clear cause
  • People who cannot lie still
  • Wanting tools to take home

Everything else, open what you need

What actually happensSix things. Thirty seconds.

The most common reason people put off a first class is not knowing what they are walking into. Here is all of it.

You lie downOn a mat, under a blanket, with a bolster under your knees and an eye pillow if you want one. That is the position for most of the hour.
Nothing is asked of youNo chanting, no sitting cross-legged, no talking, no sharing. You do not have to be good at meditating. Most people are not.
Everything is providedMats, bolsters, blankets, eye pillows and props. Bring yourself, a water bottle, and something warm, because your temperature drops as you settle.
You can leave at any pointIf you need to sit up, move, or step out, you can. Tell us on the way in and we will put you near the door.
Doors open 15 minutes earlyThey lock 5 minutes after we begin so the room is not disturbed. Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before and you will have time to settle.
AfterwardsTea, and no rush to leave. Most people sleep unusually deeply that night. Some feel tender or emotional for a day, which is normal.

Ten a week at our Windsor studio. Everything is provided, every one is open to complete beginners, and the teacher is named so you know who you are walking in to.

A typical weekWhat runs on which night

This is the usual shape of our week at the Windsor studio. Exact times shift a little, and one-off events like the Full Moon sound bath sit on top of it, so always check the live timetable before you come. Last checked September 2026. Doors open 15 minutes before class and lock 5 minutes after we begin.

Still not sure? Come to RELAX. It is the one we point every first-timer at, and you can decide the rest later. More in what is sound healing, the science of a sound bath and the full studio guide. Working through something deeper than a class can reach? 1:1 sessions go further.

Before you bookThe questions we get most
I have never done anything like this. Will I be out of place?

No. Complete beginners are the majority in most classes, and nobody can see you anyway once the lights go down and your eyes are closed. RELAX exists specifically for a first visit. Tell us on the way in that it is your first time and we will talk you through it.

What if I have ADHD, autism, or I find sensory input a lot?

Come to RELAX and lie near the back or the door. It is the quietest class we run: low light, one steady sound source at a time, and you can leave at any point without it being a thing. GROUNDING is the other quiet one, and being physically supported in a shape helps some people settle faster than lying flat does. Tell us what you need on the way in and we will set the room up for it.

What if something comes up emotionally?

It sometimes does, and it is normal. Tears with no obvious trigger, a memory surfacing, or feeling tender for a day or two afterwards. Nothing is asked of you and nobody will make you talk about it. If you are working through something heavy, a 1:1 session gives you space a group class cannot.

Do I have to believe in any of this for it to work?

No. Plenty of people treat the frequency side as background and come purely for an hour of guided rest, and get exactly as much out of it. Your nervous system responds to sustained harmonic sound and an hour of genuine stillness whatever you believe about it.

How often should I come?

Once will reset you for a few days. Nervous systems change through repetition, so the people whose sleep, anxiety and pain shift for good are the ones who come most weeks. Start with the 28-Day Reset, six sessions across four weeks for $199, and see how a month of it feels before committing to anything.

What does it cost?

Classes run $35 to $69 depending on length. Class packs are 5 for $215 or 10 for $400 on the 60-minute classes, and there are memberships if you want a weekly rhythm.

The frequencies we work withFor the curious. Not required reading.

Different classes sit in different parts of the range. You do not need to know any of this to come, but people often ask what they were actually hearing, so here it is.

174 HzLowestThe deepest tone we use. Traditionally worked with for pain and for settling a body that is bracing. You feel it more than you hear it.
285 HzRestorationUsed in tissue and recovery work. Ange plays it on tuning forks in 1:1 sessions, often paired with 528.
396 HzGroundingThe root tone. Traditionally for fear and for feeling unsafe in your own body. It runs through GROUNDING and most of what we play for sleep.
417 HzChangeAssociated with shifting something that has been stuck. Shows up when a class is about moving on from something.
432 HzHarmonyOur Mayan flute is tuned here. A warmer, rounder tuning than standard concert pitch, and the one people most often ask about afterwards.
528 HzTransformationThe best known of them. Traditionally linked to repair and to self-worth. Common in RECHARGE and in 1:1 frequency work.
639 HzHeartThe tone for connection, forgiveness and grief. It is the centre of HEART OPENING, and of most of what we play after a loss.
741 & 852 HzHigher rangeExpression and clarity. Brighter tones, used sparingly and usually near the end of a session rather than the start.

Two honest notes. These tones come from the solfeggio tradition and from the Kyela Sound Therapy Method that Ange trained in, and the meanings attached to them are traditional rather than clinically proven. What is measurable is the state they put you in: sustained harmonic sound moves the brain out of busy beta and down into alpha and theta, which is where the body rests and repairs. More on that in the science of a sound bath and the guide to the energy centres.
