Welcome in spring

An afternoon built entirely around letting go

We open with a palo santo cleanse and a cord cutting, letting go of anything you do not want to carry into the new season. Then gentle movement, a calming yin practice, and Reiki and sound bowl massage, with the bowls placed directly on the body so you receive their frequencies rather than only hear them.

We close with a gratitude practice, intentions set for spring, and a sound bath. There will be a few extra surprises along the way.

The full Sound of Soma team, Ange, Jack and Charlie, are all on hand for the whole three and a half hours. Held at our own studio in Windsor, so it is an easy one to get to. Come as you are, on your own or with a friend.

Why a half day

What three and a half hours does that an hour cannot

You already know what an hour in our room feels like. This is a different thing, and it is worth being clear about why.

You stop waiting for the endIn a class part of you is always tracking the clock. Given three and a half hours, that part gives up around the ninety minute mark, and what happens after that is the reason people do retreats.
Every doorway, in sequenceA class is one way in. Here you get clearing, movement, yin, bowls on the body and sound, in the order that lets each one land.
All three of us in the roomAnge, Jack and Charlie for the whole afternoon, rather than one practitioner holding thirty people on their own.
Room to not rush offTea afterwards, time to talk to someone if you want to, and nobody turning the lights straight on.

Before you book

The questions everyone asks

Do I need any experience with yoga, meditation or sound healing?

None. You don't need to be flexible, spiritual or good at meditating. Everything is guided and there is nothing to get right.

I have never done cacao or a palo santo cleanse before. Is that okay?

Completely okay. We walk you through each part as we go. You don't need to understand it beforehand to receive it.

What if I fall asleep during the sound bath?

That is normal and welcome. There is no correct way to experience it, so if your body wants to rest, let it. If you start snoring we will give you a gentle tap.

What should I wear?

Comfortable, loose clothing you can move and lie down in. Layers are a good idea, because your temperature shifts as you settle.

What should I bring?

Just yourself. Mats, blankets and props are provided, along with snacks and herbal tea. If you have a journal you like, bring it for the intention setting.

Is this suitable if I am feeling anxious or overwhelmed right now?

Yes, it is designed with exactly that in mind. The pace is slow and nothing is required of you. Rest, take part as much or as little as feels right, and let the space hold you.

Can I come on my own?

Absolutely. Plenty of people come solo, and it is a good way to get uninterrupted time for yourself. You are also welcome to bring a friend.

How do I get to the studio?

Sound of Soma, 5/1A Windsor Place, Windsor VIC 3181. Close to Windsor station and just off Chapel Street. Use Google Maps rather than Apple Maps, which sends people to the wrong place. Windsor Place is a small lane off McIlwrick Street.

Is there parking nearby?

Yes. Park on Chapel Street or a nearby side street and come in via 32 Chapel Street. Give yourself ten minutes more than you think you need the first time, because the lane catches people out.

What if I cannot make it any more?

Retreat bookings are final. We do not offer refunds, cancellations or reschedules, because the room is capped at nineteen and a late drop-out is a seat nobody else could take. You are very welcome to transfer your place to someone else. Just text us on 0489 089 049 with their name before the day.

What are the terms?

Nineteen places. Bookings are final: no refunds, no cancellations, no reschedules. Transferable to another person with notice. Early bird is a limited number of the nineteen places, not a date. Once all early bird spots are allocated it sells out and the full price applies, which can happen well before any cut-off date.

Step into spring lighter
