What actually happens in a distance healing session, an honest look at the explanations people give for it, and how to tell whether working remotely is right for you.

A distant healing session — also called remote healing, distance healing or distant energy healing — is a one-to-one session where the practitioner works with your energy field while you rest at home, rather than on a table in front of them.
Practically, it looks like this: you book a time, you lie down somewhere comfortable and undisturbed, and at that time your practitioner works with your field using intention, tuning forks, bowls and specific frequencies. Some sessions run over Zoom so you can hear the sound and talk afterwards. Some run with no call at all, and you receive written feedback after.
It is one of the most common questions we get from people who live outside Melbourne, travel constantly, are too unwell to leave the house, or simply cannot get to Windsor on a Wednesday night. So let us answer the real question first.
The question everybody asks
Here is where I want to be straight with you, because this corner of the wellness world is full of confident claims that do not hold up.
You will often see distant healing explained through quantum physics — entanglement, nonlocality, the idea that particles influence each other instantly across any distance. It is a beautiful metaphor and I understand why practitioners reach for it. But physicists are clear that quantum entanglement does not transmit information or influence between people, and stretching it to explain healing is not something the science supports. I am not going to sell you that.
What I can tell you honestly is what practitioners have observed for a very long time, what clients consistently report, and where the evidence genuinely sits.
What the research does show is that expectation, attention and focused intention have real, measurable effects on the body — on pain, on stress hormones, on the nervous system. Studies of distant intention have produced mixed results and remain contested. Reviews of remote healing trials generally conclude the evidence is inconclusive rather than negative — interesting enough to keep studying, not strong enough to claim proof.
What is not in dispute is what happens in your body when you set aside an hour, lie down undisturbed, drop into a deeply relaxed state, and hold a clear intention about what you want to shift. That is the relaxation response, and it is well documented. It slows the heart, deepens the breath, lowers stress hormones and switches the body from fight-or-flight into repair. That part is real regardless of what you believe about energy.
So my honest position, as someone who works this way with clients every week: come to a distant session for the experience and the shift you feel, not because you have been promised physics. Many people find it does something they cannot explain and did not expect. That is worth having. It just does not need overselling.
The framework we work within
Every energy healing tradition — sound therapy, reiki, acupuncture, pranic healing — works from the same basic model, and it helps to understand it even if you hold it lightly.
The model says you have an energy field, or biofield, that surrounds and moves through the physical body. In the sound therapy training I did through the Australian College of Sound Therapy, that field is described as having layers — etheric, emotional, mental and spiritual — along with the chakras and meridians running through them. The claim is that experience leaves imprints in that field: stress, grief, loss, long-held fear. Left unaddressed, those imprints are said to eventually show up in the body.
The practical upshot, and the part I find genuinely useful, is this: the model treats symptoms as the last stage of something rather than the first. It asks what came before the tight shoulder or the insomnia. Whether you take the energy field literally or read it as a language for the nervous system and stored stress, that question is a good one, and it is the one a session is built around.
If you want the deeper version of this, we wrote a full guide to the chakras and how sound works with them, and one on what sound healing actually is.
Step by step
No mystery, no theatre. This is the whole process:
Your only job in all of it is to lie down and let an hour be yours. Nothing is asked of you and there is nothing to get right.
Honestly
These are the things clients say most often after remote work — not promises, just the pattern:
Feeling nothing during the session is common and does not mean nothing happened. Judge it by the following week, not the hour itself. And if you feel tender, tired or emotional for a day or two afterwards, that is normal integration — the same as after an in-person session. Here is the full aftercare guide.
Working with us remotely
Everything we offer one to one at the Windsor studio can be done remotely. Frequency does not require you to be in the room, and in practice remote clients get the same structure and the same follow-up as anyone on the table.
The session Ange is known for, and the one to book if you want to know what is actually going on rather than just feel better for a day. A full chakra and aura reading first, then 45 minutes of frequency clearing based on what that reading found, then integration where he explains exactly what he saw.
You get: a 10-minute pre-session, full energy field diagnosis, 45-minute tailored clearing, 20-minute integration, a PDF of your chakra and aura reading to keep, and personalised action steps.
The shorter first step, and the most popular way to start remotely — it runs in person or over Zoom and works exactly the same either way. We talk through what you want to work on, then use precise frequencies to clear what is blocking it.
Best for: a first experience of energy healing, anxiety and overwhelm, feeling energetically stuck, or a nervous system that will not come down.
Reiki is hands-on energy work aimed squarely at a nervous system stuck in overdrive, and it is one of the oldest traditions of distance practice — sending reiki to someone not in the room has been part of the method for a century.
Best for: emotional exhaustion, wanting something very gentle, and anyone who would rather not talk. No conversation is required at any point.
One session shifts things. If what you are carrying has been there for years, the multi-week packages build layer by layer instead, and every package opens with the full energy field reading. Includes email and voice note support between sessions — which works just as well remotely.
Not sure which one? Book the first session and we will assess on the day and use what your body responds to.

Being straight with you
Distant sessions are a genuinely good fit if:
Come in person instead if: you want the physical vibration of bowls resting on your body, or you are working on tight fascia, old injuries and holding patterns — hands-on fascia release and Yin with bowls on the body genuinely need the room. And if you are in Melbourne and simply have not been yet, start in the studio. Come once, then decide.
One more honest note: this is a complement to medical care, never a replacement. If you are unwell, keep your doctors. What this work does is address the state underneath — and a body stuck in survival mode heals badly no matter what else you are doing.
Watch
The part people find hardest to picture is what a practitioner is actually doing when they read and clear an energy field. These two are from our Instagram — and the mechanism is identical whether I am beside you or you are at home in another city.
Two more worth a look: finding where energy is stuck with a Tibetan bowl — the scan that opens every session — and why symptoms start in the field before they ever become physical.

Book a sessionCommon questions
For frequency and energy work, clients consistently report the same kind of shifts either way, and that matches our experience running both. What you lose remotely is the physical vibration — bowls resting on the body, hands-on fascia release — which genuinely needs the room. So: for energy field work, no meaningful difference. For bodywork, come in.
Not necessarily. Sessions can run over Zoom so you hear the sound live and can talk afterwards, or with no call at all — you rest at the agreed time and receive your feedback after. Some people find the call helps them settle. Others prefer no screen at all. Both work.
Your name, a short note on what you are working with, and a photo if you would like to send one. Then a quiet hour where you will not be interrupted. That is genuinely it.
Very common, and not a sign it failed. Some people feel warmth, tingling or emotional release during the session; others feel very little at the time and notice the change over the next few days — usually as sleep first. Judge it by the following week rather than the hour.
Yes. Distance practice has been part of reiki for a century, and Jack offers it remotely. It suits emotional exhaustion and an overloaded nervous system, and requires no talking at all.
Most people notice a shift in the first session. Deeper, long-held patterns usually take a series, and we will talk honestly about what we are seeing rather than booking you in indefinitely. For something that has been there for years, the 4 and 10-week packages are designed to build week on week.
Yes, and there is nothing physically invasive about it. Talk to us first if you have epilepsy or a seizure disorder, are pregnant, or are managing a serious mental health condition, so we can adapt the session. It is a complement to medical treatment and never a replacement for it.
This article shares education and personal experience, not medical advice. Distant and energy healing are presented as the practices of established therapeutic traditions, not as established medical fact, and the evidence for distant intention specifically remains contested. Sound healing complements medical care and should never replace diagnosis or treatment from your doctor.
Wherever you are
Remote sessions run with Ange and with Jack, from anywhere in the world. Frequency healing from $200, or the full energy field reading with a written report at $400. Same structure, same follow-up, no travel.
